Everything You Need
Step by Step
Planning medical treatment abroad involves many moving parts. This guide walks you through every stage of your Medical Center Klinik journey — from your first enquiry to your final follow-up at home — so you arrive prepared, confident, and fully informed.
Patient Guide · IstanbulBefore You Travel
Preparation is the foundation of a successful medical journey. Our pre-travel process is designed to eliminate uncertainty and ensure you arrive in Istanbul fully informed, clinically ready, and logistically prepared.
On Arrival in Istanbul
From the moment you land, you are in capable hands. Your dedicated coordinator manages every detail of your arrival, ensuring a seamless transition from airport to clinic without stress or confusion.
During Your Treatment
All clinical procedures at Medical Center Klinik are performed in our JCI-accredited facility by board-certified specialists. Throughout your treatment period, your coordinator remains your single point of contact for everything non-clinical.
Recovery & Departure
Our clinical team sets your discharge criteria based on your recovery — not your flight schedule. We ensure you depart Istanbul fully ready, fully documented, and with everything you need for a safe onward journey.
After You Return Home
Your aftercare programme begins the moment you board your flight home. Medical Center Klinik patients have lifetime access to their medical team — this is not a policy, it is a commitment built into every patient relationship.
Frequently Asked Questions
Our international patient coordinators answer these questions every day. If yours isn't listed, reach out — we respond within 24 hours.
Ask Us Directly →Do I need a visa to visit Istanbul for medical treatment?
Most European, US, Gulf, and many other passport holders can enter Turkey visa-free or obtain an e-Visa online within minutes. We provide a formal medical invitation letter to support your visa application and immigration process. Our coordinator guides you through requirements specific to your nationality.
How do I know my surgeon is qualified?
All surgeons at Medical Center Klinik are board-certified by the Turkish Medical Association and hold internationally recognised credentials. We provide full CV documentation, specialisation certificates, and case volume data for every treating physician before you confirm your booking.
Is my medical information kept confidential?
Yes. All patient data is protected under Turkish medical privacy law and our GDPR-compliant data handling policy. We never share patient information with third parties without explicit written consent. Your portal access is secured with end-to-end encryption.
What happens if I experience a complication after returning home?
Your surgical team is available via WhatsApp and video consultation for clinical assessment. For urgent complications, we have a 30-minute emergency escalation line that connects you directly to a senior clinician. If required, we coordinate with partner clinics in your home country for in-person assessment and arrange emergency return to Istanbul where clinically necessary.
Can I bring a companion or family member?
Yes, and for surgical procedures we strongly recommend it. Companion hotel accommodation is included in most surgical packages. Your companion is welcome at all non-clinical appointments, and we ensure they are kept fully informed throughout the process in their own language.
What languages does your team speak?
Our international patient coordinators operate in English, Arabic, German, French, Russian, Azerbaijani, Kazakh, and Turkish. Clinical medical translation is available in all eight languages throughout your treatment — in person and via video.
How far in advance should I book?
For elective procedures, we recommend initiating your consultation at least 4–6 weeks before your intended travel date. This allows sufficient time for record review, treatment planning, pre-operative preparation, and travel logistics. Urgent consultations can often be accommodated within 72 hours.
