What You Need to Know Before You Decide
Every patient who contacts us has done their research. What they are looking for — beyond the clinical facts — is someone they can trust to be honest about what this treatment involves, what it can achieve, and what it cannot. This page is written to give you exactly that.
Medical Center Klinik's dermatology programme covers the full spectrum of medical and cosmetic skin care, delivered by board-certified dermatologists with subspecialty training in dermatological surgery, laser medicine, and skin oncology.
Our medical dermatology services include comprehensive skin cancer screening (full-body dermoscopy), surgical excision of suspicious lesions with histological analysis, diagnosis and treatment of psoriasis, eczema, acne, and rosacea, patch testing for contact allergies, hair and scalp disorders, and nail disease.
Our aesthetic dermatology portfolio includes advanced laser treatments (fractional CO2 resurfacing, Nd:YAG, Q-switched, pulsed-dye laser), intense pulsed light (IPL) for pigmentation and vascular lesions, medical-grade chemical peels, botulinum toxin (Botox) and dermal filler treatments, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy for skin rejuvenation and hair loss, microneedling and radiofrequency skin tightening, and body contouring treatments.
Who This Treatment Is — and Is Not — For
Our medical team will give you an honest assessment during your free consultation. We do not recommend treatment that is not clinically appropriate — ever. Here is the general candidacy picture for this procedure.
Dermatology consultations are appropriate for any patient with a skin concern requiring specialist evaluation. Medical dermatology patients include those with chronic skin conditions, unexplained rashes, suspicious lesions, or hair and nail disorders. Aesthetic dermatology patients include those seeking treatment for signs of ageing, pigmentation irregularities, acne scarring, or general skin quality improvement.
All patients undergo a consultation before any procedural treatment is undertaken. Certain laser treatments require skin phototype assessment and may not be appropriate for darker skin tones using specific wavelengths — our dermatologists will advise on the most appropriate and safe treatment approach for each individual.
What Happens, and When
From your first message to your final follow-up, every step is managed by your dedicated coordinator. You will never be passed between departments, left without an answer, or surprised by something you were not told to expect. Here is exactly what the process looks like.
Dermatological consultation
full skin history, current concerns, and treatment objectives discussed; medications and allergies reviewed
Full-body dermoscopic screening
systematic examination of all skin surfaces using digital dermoscopy; suspicious lesions photographed and documented
Diagnosis and treatment plan
findings presented in writing; recommended treatments explained with realistic outcome expectations
Medical treatments (topical prescriptions, systemic therapy) initiated with written protocol and monitoring schedule
Laser or procedural treatment performed in the dermatology treatment suite
duration 30–90 minutes depending on the procedure
Post-treatment care instructions provided in writing; specific skincare products recommended
Follow-up review at 48 hours for in-clinic laser patients; remote photo review at 2 weeks and 4 weeks
Written treatment report issued for submission to the patient's home dermatologist
What to Expect After Treatment
Recovery is not something that happens to you — it is something you and your medical team manage together. Our aftercare programme continues long after you leave Istanbul, with scheduled follow-up consultations, direct access to your clinical team, and full documentation for your GP at home.
Recovery requirements vary by treatment. Consultation and dermoscopy screening require no recovery. Surgical excision results in a small wound requiring standard wound care for 7–14 days. Laser resurfacing procedures involve 3–7 days of skin redness and flaking, during which sun exposure must be strictly avoided. Botulinum toxin and filler treatments require no downtime — patients can return to normal activities immediately, with results apparent within 3–14 days depending on the treatment.

International patients typically pay significantly less than equivalent treatment in the UK, Germany, or the United States — with no compromise on clinical quality, materials, or aftercare standards.

These are the questions our international patient team answers every day. If yours is not listed here, reach out directly — we respond within 24 hours, without obligation.
Can a full-body skin cancer screening be done in a single appointment?
Yes. Our full-body dermoscopic screening is conducted in a single 60–90 minute appointment. All skin surfaces are systematically examined using digital dermoscopy. Any suspicious lesions are photographed, documented, and a written report issued. Where excision biopsy is recommended, this can be performed during the same visit or on the following day.
What laser treatments are available for skin rejuvenation?
Our laser suite offers fractional CO2 resurfacing (for fine lines, skin texture, and acne scarring), Nd:YAG (vascular lesions and hair removal), Q-switched Nd:YAG (pigmentation and tattoo removal), and pulsed-dye laser (rosacea and vascular lesions). The appropriate treatment modality is selected based on the patient's skin phototype, concern, and downtime tolerance.
Are the dermal fillers and botulinum toxin products the same as in Europe?
Yes. We use exclusively CE-marked, European Medicines Agency (EMA) licenced products including Allergan (Botox), Galderma (Restylane, Sculptra), and Merz (Radiesse, Belotero). No non-branded or unlicensed products are used at our dermatology centre.
Can I receive a prescription for my skin condition to take home?
Yes. Medical dermatology consultations result in a written treatment plan and, where indicated, prescriptions issued with the international non-proprietary name (INN) of each medication, allowing dispensing in any country. A written clinical report suitable for submission to the patient's home dermatologist is standard practice.
